Verified facts

RWS said on 27 October that it expected approximately £700m revenue for its year ended September, around 2% above the previous year. Organic constant-currency growth was approximately 3%.

The company expected adjusted pre-tax profit about 9% ahead of the prior year and net debt around £38m, excluding lease liabilities under its definition. The figures are unaudited ahead of December's annual results.

Apolifina analysis

Reported and organic constant-currency growth use different bases. Adjusted profit should also be considered alongside the statutory result when it is published, rather than treated as an interchangeable earnings figure. The update does not establish that every business segment is growing.

Uncertainty and risk

Preliminary estimates can change. Acquisitions, customer demand and the changing use of AI in language services create execution risks. Company expectations for a transaction's completion are not confirmation that it has completed. General reporting only.
