Verified facts

Assets under management rose from £73.7bn to £75.9bn. The company's table separates £0.7bn of net flows from £1.5bn of market returns; the asset increase was not all new customer money.

The retail, wholesale and investment-trust channel attracted £1.0bn net, while institutions added £0.2bn. CCLA recorded £0.5bn of net outflows.

Apolifina analysis

For shareholders, inflows and market movements are different drivers of the fee base. A rising asset total alone does not establish the strength of customer demand. For fund investors, the manager's corporate growth is not a reason to assume any particular fund suits their needs.
